New corporate certification program for mentors
Suze Cumming, The Nature of Real Estate, is a recognized educator across Canada and we have adopted her Red Circle program as a means to help our experienced agents acquire the very specific skill set needed to work with a mentee.
Teaching & coaching vs. mentoring
What we understand is mentoring in our industry has been more a process of telling a person what to do and perhaps letting them spend some time shadowing them.
We realized that this process was more of a teaching and coaching approach versus mentoring.
Red Circle Mentorship
Now we have a program that gives our agents an opportunity to achieve a Mentor Certification level of training and a license to work as a recognized mentor within our group of RE/MAX franchises currently serving over 580 associates.
This program is all about the mentee being guided to do the work required to get a real estate sales career up and running within their first 3-6 months in the business.
By comparison, the average agent in an “doing it on their own” program can experience time frames of up to a year or longer before they actually get their first sale.
That is a very emotionally and financially challenging experience for most of us to survive and it speaks to the very high turnover that occurs in people leaving the industry within 1 to 3 years.
We have been receiving more and more requests for mentors and this program is going to be a game changer for our associates who want to accomplish great things in their real estate career.
