One of the aspects that I have truly enjoyed over my years in the industry and is how fast things change, particularly with regard to the systems and technologies that we must incorporate into our daily business practices. To not make these changes means we risk knowing less about the market than our clients do; not to mention losing all hope of experiencing an efficient, satisfying day in a reasonable period of time.
No one owns information anymore and I like that notion. What we as professional REALTORS® do own, is the ability to interpret what the information would mean to a prospective buyer or seller. That skill is why we will always be sought out by buyers and sellers however we have to learn how to engage them and convey that value. That is where the steep learning curve enters the picture.
Start with a Client Relationship Management System
The first place that we all start when new to the business or where we restart when experienced and wanting to grow, is our client data base. The Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems available to us today are sophisticated and fully automate every possible service step we take in support of our buyers and sellers. Nothing gets left to memory; everything is planned into a road map and strategically timed to happen. Agents who fully subscribe to a CRM early in their career, have shown year after year that they are substantially more productive and financially rewarded as compared to those who do not.
Case study – A career investment that pays for itself
As always, rather than our telling you this, we think you will enjoy this recent share from one of newer associates who made a great decision to attend our RE/MAX International convention called R4, in Las Vegas. We loved that they had a very definite reason for attending as did the other 45 associates who attended as well.
Here is their story.
R4 felt like it was going to be expensive and hard to navigate however we needed help with process automation and tried and true practices from seasoned agents in the field.
Going to R4 was the solution for us.
We went for the specific purpose of learning systems automation for connecting with our database. We chose the seminars which helped us with this and met agents from other areas with experience in this area. While there I was able to make a connection and generate a listing as well.
What an amazing experience. I would urge new agents to attend if your trying to curb the learning curve of real estate.
